Consumable items are special objects that can be obtained in Act I, Act III, and Kaycee's Mod of Inscryption. They sit to the right of the game board, and may be used at any time during combat, providing various beneficial effects to the user.

In Act I, the player obtains multiple items along the path, and is able to hold a maximum of three. Act I items are lost permanently when used.

In Act III, items are permanent additions to the player's game, and rather than being lost upon use, they must be taken to a Waypoint and recharged in order to be used again.

Item Sources[]

Act I[]

Throughout the run, items can be obtained at item draw events or via the Trinket Bearer Sigil. Additionally, solving puzzles or defeating bosses (namely, The Angler) can unlock items for future runs.

The Hoggy Bank item can also be obtained when one of your creatures is eaten at a campfire, as long as you have enough item slots.

Kaycee's Mod[]

In Kaycee's Mod, all items from Act I are available (except the Special Dagger and Failure). There are also 3 additional items unlocked by completing the painting puzzle, and one that must be unlocked every run, from The Trapper for 7 teeth, and can then afterwards be obtained at Events.

Act III[]

Each item in Act III is obtained from a set area on the map/factory, and is obtained permanently once found.

Special Dagger To the user: You will place a weight on the scales. The pain is temporary. Using this item tips the scales, earning 4 points of damage but costing the player their right eye. At the end of the battle, the player will be offered a choice of a new eye to replace their old one.

This item cannot be obtained via the Trinket Bearer Sigil. It can be obtained at item draws if the player does not currently possess the dagger, but only if the dagger puzzle has been solved. It is essential to move to Act II. It replaces the Pliers once the dagger puzzle is solved.

Scissors To the user: You may cut up one of your adversary's cards. It is destroyed. Some cards are uncuttable: the Pack Mule and the Moon.

The item can only cut cards currently in play; the cards queued for play cannot be cut. If no cards on the opponent's side of the board can currently be cut, the item cannot be used.

Pliers To the user: You will place a weight on the scales. The pain is temporary. The player places one of their own teeth on the scales, earning a single point of damage. Replaced by Special Dagger when dagger puzzle is solved.

Hoggy Bank To the user: You will immediately gain 4 Bones. The Hoggy Bank can be obtained if one of your creatures is destroyed at the campfire.

Hourglass To the user: Your adversary will entirely skip their next turn. On Leshy's next turn, he will pass. Nothing will occur on his side of the board: No creatures will attack (or act whatsoever), and no new creatures will be played.

Failure To the user: Nothing will happen. This bottle of goo has no use. This item cannot be obtained via the Trinket Bearer Sigil.

Upon attempting to use this item in combat, Leshy will remove it, placing it on the shelf in the Cabin. It will give advice to the player when interacted with, but otherwise has no purpose.

Black Goat in a Bottle To the user: A Black Goat is created in your hand. A Black Goat is defined as: 0 Power, 1 Health, Worthy Sacrifice.

Frozen Opossum in a Bottle To the user: A Frozen Opossum is created in your hand. A Frozen Opossum is defined as: 0 Power, 5 Health, Frozen Away. The Frozen Opossum cannot be sacrificed (similarly to the Boulder), but will turn into an Opossum upon destruction.

Fish Hook To the user: Hook one of my cards and take it as your own. You must have an empty space on your side to receive it. Functions similarly to the The Angler's attack.

This item cannot be obtained via the Trinket Bearer Sigil, or at item draws.

The Fish Hook is available on subsequent runs after defeating The Angler once. The Moon and Pack Mule cannot be hooked.

Harpie's Birdleg Fan To the user: Your creatures will attack as though they have the Airborne Sigil this turn. The timing of this item is important: Cards placed after the item is used will not be affected.

Affected cards will visibly float above the table, not unlike creatures with the Airborne Sigil.

Magpie's Lens To the user: Single-use version of the Magpie's sigil. Allows the user to draw any one card from their deck.
SkinningKnife
Skinning Knife To the user: You may skin one of your adversary's cards. It is destroyed and you draw a pelt card. Is an upgrade to the Scissors because it gives you an additional card after destroying one of Leshy's. (For reasons unclear, possibly bugs, this item is sometimes obtainable at item draw events in Act I.)
