A card bearing this sigil will grow into a more powerful form after 1 turn on the board.
Fledgling is a sigil that allows a card to evolve, gaining Power, Health and/or sigils. At the beginning of the owner's turn, any of their cards bearing the Sigil will transform and will then generally lose this Sigil.
Behaviour[]
Evolving will preserve any sigils transferred to the original creature by Altars, as well as any stat changes present before the transformation, such as permanent stat increases from Campfires or damage taken from enemies.
By default, evolving a creature will add "Elder" to its name and increase its stats by 1 Power and 2 Health. For example, a 1/2 Bullfrog will transform into a 2/4 Elder Bullfrog. However, many creatures possess a unique form instead, or have unique properties to their transformation.
If a card acquires this Sigil via the totem and has Unkillable, it will regain the Sigil and can be played again for an additional evolution.
- Cards naturally bearing the sigil always possess a unique form.
- The Wolf Cub transforms into a Wolf, gaining +2/+1.
- The Elk Fawn transforms into an Elk, gaining +1/+3.
- The Raven Egg transforms into a Raven, gaining +2/+1 and Airborne.
- The Strange Larva first transforms into a Strange Pupa, with no change in stats, then into Mothman, gaining +7 Attack and Airborne.
- The Sarcophagus transforms into a Mummy Lord, gaining +3/+1.
- The Dire Wolf Pup from Kaycee's Mod transforms into a Dire Wolf, also unique to Kaycee's Mod, gaining +1/+4, and loses Bone Digger in favor of Double Strike, also unique to the mod.
- The Tadpole from Kaycee's Mod transforms into a Bullfrog, gaining +1/+1, and loses Waterborne in favor of Mighty Leap.
- The following cards have a unique transformation, despite not naturally bearing the sigil.
- The Worker Ant and Flying Ant transform into an Ant Queen after 1 turn, gaining +0/+2, with the Flying Ant losing Airborne.
- Note that this is not due to the unique Power stat Ants. In fact, if an Ant Queen evolves, it gains 1 Power and 2 Health as per the standard rule.
- The Elk transforms into a Moose Buck, gaining +1/+3 and losing Sprinter in favour of Hefty.
- The Mole transforms into a Mole Man, gaining +0/+2 and Mighty Leap.
- The Mantis transforms into a Mantis God, losing Bifurcated Strike in favour of Trifurcated Strike.
- The Worker Ant and Flying Ant transform into an Ant Queen after 1 turn, gaining +0/+2, with the Flying Ant losing Airborne.
- The following cards gain +1/+2 but have a unique name (as opposed to having "Elder" prepended to their name).
- Alpha transforms into "Omega".
- Child 13 transforms into "Child 14".
- Dams transform into "God Dam".
- Long Elk transforms into "Longer Elk".
- Opossum transforms into "Awesome Opossum".
- Mothman transforms into "Final Form". This appears to only be possible using a Totem with Fledgling, as well as a fully evolved Mothman returning to your hand with Unkillable.
- Great White transforms into "Greater White"
- Deathcards do not gain the "Elder" moniker and simply retain their original name.
- Curious Egg transforms into "Extra Curious Egg"
- The Bone Digger sigil will have its effect doubled, making it produce 2 bones instead of 1.
