This page contains the various Guidelines of this wiki.
The following rules and conventions apply to the entire wiki:
1. Names and terminology: Names and terms should always match the terminology used in the game. If possible, the in-game names should be used instead of the internal technical name acquired through data-mining, which may be added separately. If the technical name matches the meaning very badly or no name exists, feel free to come up with something descriptive.
Example: "Many Lives" instead of "sacrificial".
2. File names: The same rules apply to file names, except that whitespaces should be omitted. Always use PNG for image files and WebM for videos or animated images. Furthermore, the act should be added to the name to clearly indicate from which part of the game the image originates. Unnecessary numbering should be avoided.
Example: "ManyLivesAct1.png" instead of "manylives2745.jpg"
3. Keyword formatting: Keywords should always be capitalized. If they consist of several parts, then the first word, as well as each noun should be capitalized. Furthermore, the corresponding page should be linked to or if this is not possible, the word should be highlighted in bold. If the formatting becomes too excessive, then the article style must be revised, for example, by using more pronouns. Only if this is not feasible may then some formatting may be omitted.
Example: "Many Lives" or "Many Lives" instead of "many lives".
4. Links: Links should not be merged. Instead, each page should be linked to separately.
Example: Squirrel Card instead of Squirrel Card.
5. Formal language: The language in the wiki should always be kept formal; technical jargon is allowed but not colloquial language. Exaggerations, personal opinions and false generalizations should be avoided.
Example: "The Ring Worm can be a tricky card to use." instead of "The Ring Worm is a useless card."
"The Urayuli Card has the highest base statistics of all Cards." instead of "The Urayuli Card is very OP.".
6. Page scope: The scope of the particular page must always be taken into consideration. Use a disambiguation page or link to another page at the top if necessary.
Example: Detailed information about a boss belongs on the boss page, not on a character page or a page that summarizes the plot of the game. Likewise information about the Squirrel Tribe belongs on that page, not on the Squirrel Card page.
7. Infoboxes: If an infobox template exists, it should be added to the page and filled in correctly. Non-existing properties should always be omitted instead of filling them with a dummy value like "None" or "N/A". Please refrain from repeating information in the body text, that is already in the info box, unless it generates additional value, e.g. through explainations. If card appears in multiple acts but has the same stats, e.g. Rabbit or Urayuli, a <gallery>
should be used as image instead of using multi-card infoboxes such as Template:Card2.
Example: The Geck Card has no Cost, so no Cost should be filled into the corresponding data row of the infobox.
8. Tables: A table row should be designed to require as little height as possible; unnecessary details should be avoided. If possible, sortable columns and tabs should be used. The respective parts of the table can then get their own subpage.
9. Categories: Since it can prove difficult to find specific links via the category pages, a page with a list or table of the information to be searched for should always be linked on the respective pages.
Example: The link to the Cards page on the Category:Cards page.
10. Source formatting: Please pay attention to the formatting of the wiki source code. Use linebreaks where possible to make it easier for other people to read your source code.
