Inscryption Wiki

The stalwart Snapper. A near impenetrable defense.

The River Snapper is one of the Beast Cards from Act I of Inscryption.

Strategy[]

The River Snapper is one of the bulkiest cards in the game, surpassed only by the Moose Buck and Urayuli. It is also easier to play compared to other cards with either the same or more Health, since it requires less Blood. This makes it a great card to have when dealing with opponents that have high Power.

Good Upgrades

  • Defensive Sigils such as Burrower, Mighty Leap or Guardian allow you to take full advantage of the River Snapper's Health.
  • Touch of Death partially negates the card's low attack, effectively turning it into an Adder with much better survivability.
  • Sharp Quills, along with the River Snapper's massive base Health, can make into a great source of damage to other cards.
  • Stinky allows it to stall cards for even longer.
  • The Mycologists even further increase the River Snapper's defensive capabilities.

Situational Upgrades

  • Movement sigils, such as Sprinter or Hefty, can help dealing with cards such as Elk, but Burrower is much more versatile.

Bad Upgrades

  • Airborne has little effect due to the card's low base Power, entirely removing its ability to slowly take down an opposing force.
  • Waterborne completely negates the River Snapper's defensive abilities.
