The Pike Mage
The Pike Mage, also known as Amber, is an NPC first encountered in Magnificus's Tower in Act II. She serves under Magnificus, and is fought second when starting Magnificus' trials in Act II. In Act III, she reappears as an NPC in Gaudy Gem Land.
The Pike Mage was one of Magnificus' graduate students. She was transformed into a severed head impaled on a spear set atop a surface of fiery stones. Despite the apparent pain, she is the most calm and level-headed of Magnificus' graduate students, reacting to her defeat with tranquil dissatisfaction.

Act III[]
In Act III, she appears as an NPC in Gaudy Gem Land (P03's rendition of Magnificus' area). Her head is impaled on a spear in front of a trio of orange swords that block the player's path. After a brief conversation, the Pike Mage will despawn and the blockade behind her will be removed.

- (First encounter) "... just imagine you are an ice cube, slowly melting on a hot pan... Oh! I was only talking to myself. The pain of being a head impaled on a spear is... Well it is worth it of course. Magnificus will award me the highest honor. I will be the centerpiece of his deck!"
- (Deck incomplete) "Hmm. Your deck isn't right. You did add enough cards to it, right? 20 should do."

- "Ho! A traveller! These parts do not see many. You wish to pass these blades? Fine."

- "To soothe the pain I imagine how things could be worse... like that Mage who came before me. A Ruby Mage like me! But Magnificus got rid of him. He even got The Blue Man in(v)olved. The deal was that T(h)e Master had to find someone with a use for the poor sap. Making NPCs isnt cheap and all that."
